Examples of "Not So Old" Testament Truths

Examples of "Not So Old" Testament Truths

It’s amazing how much the “Old” Testament points to things that the New Testament reveals. I often times think about how much different our understanding would be if the writings in Scripture were never called “old” or “new” to begin with.

The simplicity of Scripture is based on a single covenant that Yahuah made with Abraham and then with Israel, and the thread of the Bible is that it is a love story of the Father renewing His covenant over and over with His people.

Yahuah has always been faithful, His mercy is longsuffering, and His hand is outstretched. It’s our hearts and the desires of our flesh that have always been the problem.

The “new” covenant is simply a renewal of the terms and conditions set forth by the keeper of the covenant, which is Yahuah—similar to how a husband and wife would renew their wedding vows. They don’t change the definition of marriage or the marriage vows, they simply “renew” them and refresh their dedication to one another.

Yahuah never changed the definition of sin or what it means to be obedient or how He desires to be worshipped. While many people believe the “new” covenant is a doing away of the commandments, the true understanding comes with learning how this covenant has been renewed again, except this time through our Messiah, Yahusha.

This is why we have to see how Scripture points to truths that are further revealed in the New Testament authors. Some things have been fulfilled, other things haven’t been fulfilled yet.

I want to go over a few examples...

The Gates to the New Jerusalem

“And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel.”
Ezekiel 48:31

Points to...

“And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.”
Revelation 21:12

The River and the Tree of Life

“There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of Elohim, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. Elohim is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: Elohim shall help her, and that right early.”
Psalm 46:4-5

Points to...

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
Revelation 22:1-2

He Will Wipe Away Every Tear

“He will swallow up death forever, and Yahuah Elohim will wipe away tears from all faces; the rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; for Yahuah has spoken.”
Isaiah 25:8

Points to...

“And Elohim will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4

The City and Name of Elohim

“It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, Yahuah is there.”
Ezekiel 48:35

&

“In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, Yahuah our Righteousness.”
Jeremiah 33:16

Points to...

“Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my Elohim, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my Elohim, and the name of the city of my Elohim, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my Elohim: and I will write upon him my new name.”
Revelation 3:12

But Who Will Have Access to This Place?

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13

&

"Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in."
Isaiah 26:2

Points to...

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Yahuah, and the faith of Yahusha.”
Revelation 14:12

AND...it can’t be made any more clear:

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
Revelation 22:14

The “Old” Testament isn’t so old, after all.

If you want understanding, cry out to the Most High. Ask Him to reveal the mysteries and secrets reserved for only those who are truly seeking with their whole heart. There is a whole treasure chest of wisdom, joy, excitement, and understanding that He desires to give you.

He is STILL seeking His lost sheep.

His hand is STILL outstretched.

His grace is STILL sufficient.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
Matthew 7:7
